DIRTY DASH TRAINING BEGINS

BOUGHT the coolest treadmill on craigslist. I love finding a good deal. I have been searching for a good one FOREVER. Everything was too much - or not great quality but this one is amazing & I swear it was never used. It's built like a ROCK!!!! The Nordic Track C 900!! Its has iFitness where I can download specific runs and it will simulate the course and it has an iPod hook up and speakers to play it through. I LOVE LOVE the cushioning it gives when you run-- a very noticeable difference from treadmills without. And Jillian Michael's is there to motivate and speak to me as I run. Also many other cool features!
I have an elliptical. LOVE IT!!!! If I add diet, it helps me with my weight. The treadmill is much more difficult in comparison to an elliptical however. For example I go 6 -7 miles on the elliptical in no time & it's not overly difficult. I keep it around a 4-6 incline that way you work more of the entire leg from the gluts to the calves. The other incline levels focus more on just one area. I like to keep the difficulty about 8-10 so I can go fast but still have weight pushing against my leg. It's crazy 2 years ago when I bought my elliptical a level 3 seemed hard for 20 minutes. I'm hoping my body adjusts to running eventually the same way.

I printed out a schedule yesterday to run a 10k and when I noticed the first run was only 1.5 miles I thought "that is lame." How easy... NOT! It about killed me. I have been doing tons of classes at the gym-and all kinds of exercises, but not running. Running fast(OKAY- not very fast, 5 miles per hour is all) for 1.5 miles was really hard for me. I guess running is in a class all it's own compared to the rest.

I am PRAYING adding in running with my other routine I will see better numbers on the scale. 2 pounds again this week. I did eat quite a lot of bread. It was all high fiber and 100 percent whole wheat. Still it was bread. New studies say exercise doesn't make you more hungry:) YA RIGHT, it does me. OH wait I was always hungry even before I exercised:) :) Bread seems to be the only thing that curbs it given that I'm not eating sweets. OKAY OKAY I did have a few mike-n-ikes the other day. Just a few. They were sooooo delicious:)

I have to lose 2 pounds in the next 3 days to be to my March goal. My plan is no weights, just cardio. Lots of cardio!!! Salad and fish as much as I hate it. Old fashion oatmeal with berries & flax for breakfast. Small proteins like almonds & apple for snack. If I can't bring myself to eat salad, I will do a protein shake. This would be so much easier if I liked salad & fish because they are so good for you. Do you think it would help if I start telling myself I LOVE it--Kinda like tricking my brain into liking it. I'm going to go to bed now & just keep saying I love fish & salad and I can't wait to eat it tomorrow. I'll see if it works:)
